Your Desktop

Your desktop is the launchpad to all of the tools, applications, and power of your computer. Your default desktop contains:

• Top Panel with
  • Applications, Places, System Menu
  • Deskbar - The All-In-One Action Bar
  • Firefox Launcher
  • Evolution Launcher
  • Notification Area
  • Clock and Calendar
  • Logout and Shutdown Button
• Bottom Panel with
  • Show Desktop Button
  • Window List
  • Desktop Switcher
  • Trash Can
    

Panels

The customizable panels at the top and bottom of your desktop allow you to launch applications, adjust volume, check the time and much more.

• To add an applet to either panel right click and choose +Add to Panel...
  

• To add an application launcher to the panel click on the application in the Application menu and drag it to the panel.
• Right click on any panel item to move, modify, or remove it.

Calendar and Clock

The calendar and clock on your desktop is integrated with the Evolution Email application. Click on the calendar to see upcoming appointments and task.

Navigating Your Computer

It's easy to get around from the Places menu.



Store all of your documents in your Home folder. Anything you store on your desktop is located in the Desktop folder inside of your Home folder.



Go to Places > Network Servers to browse your local network.
