Connecting to Your Network

Connecting to your network is as simple as plugging in your Ethernet cable and your ready to go. To connect to a wireless network:

Make sure your wireless hardware switch is turned on (The wireless LED should be lit)
Click on the Network Manager icon next to the clock
Choose the wireless network you want to connect to
If the network is secured you will be prompted for the appropriate security key

Sharing Folders on Your Network

Right click on the the folder you want to share
Click Share Folder
Install SMB file sharing if you are prompted to do so (this installs Samba which allows sharing with Windows and Linux machines)

Next to Share with: choose SMB
Give your share a name and comment (description)
To make the folder read only tick the checkbox next to Read only
Tick the checkbox next to Allow browsing folder
Click OK

Accessing other computers

Set up the folder to be shared on the other computer. If this is a windows machine the steps will vary depending of the flavour of windows used. Open Places->Network Servers. You should see your shared PC and be able to browse its shared folders.
